TSS - Efficiency Factor

The efficiency factor only affects the calculation of TSS load if you select a flow-through tank.

If a off-line flow-through tank is selected only the discharged load is treated, e.g. efficiency factor * discharged load is modelled to be deposited in the tank. This load is not anymore released during the simulation but remains in the tank.

If an on-line flow-through tank is selected the load in the continuation flow is also treated, e.g. efficiency factor * load in continuation flow is retained. Thus, the TSS concentration in the continuation flow is accordingly reduced.

The efficiency factor is constant during a simulation run (equal to the selected value between 0 and 1). It can be estimated from the tank characteristics by the following formula.
