Receiving Water

All parameter values for the receiving water are entered here. They are grouped by impacts (NH3, Hydraulics and Solids). Values of parameters listed on the tab System are always needed. If an impact is not activated then editing of the corresponding parameter values is disabled.

System

Baseflow [m3/s]: Discharge during dry weather (approx. Q347, the discharge that is reached or exceeded during 347 days per year or 95% of the time)

Hydraulics

Strickler Coefficient [m^(1/3)/s]: roughness of the channel bed
Channel Slope [-]: slope of the receiving water (not in %o)
Channel Width [m]: width of the receiving water
Side Slope x:1 (H:V) [-]: horizontal distance m of the bank for a vertical distance of 1 (0: rectangular channel, 1: 45 degrees)
Average Grain Size [m]: average grain size of bed material
90% Grain Size [m]: 90% grain size of bed material

NH3

NH4-N Concentration [mg/l]: ammonia concentration in the receiving water
pH Value [-]: pH value in the receiving water
Alkalinity [mmol/l]: alkalinity in the receiving water
Min. Temp. (February) [C]: minimal annual temperature in the receiving water
Max. Temp. (August) [C]: maximal annual temperature in the receiving water

Solids

TSS Settling Velocity [m/s]:used to calculate accumulation of TSS
Erosion Coefficient [g/m2/s]:used to calculate erosion of accumulated particles
Degradation Rate of org. Matter [1/d]:used to calculate degradation of the organic part of accumulated TSS during dry weather
Critical Shear Stress [N/m2]:determines, if accumulation (τ <= τ crit) or erosion (τ > τ crit) occures
gO2/gTSS from Combined System [-]:fraction of organic matter in TSS discharged from combined sewer system
gO2/gTSS from Separate System [-]:fraction of organic matter in TSS discharged from separate sewer system
